CASTING SHADOWS: MIRRORS OF PERCEPTION | BOOK EXPERIMENT
“Casting Shadows: Mirrors of Perception” is a project that seeks to redefine the reading experience and bring a very unique format of Albert Camus’ renowned book “Stranger.” Departing from conventional approaches, this project aims to showcase a more multidimensional and nuanced perspective of the protagonist, Meursault, who exists as a social outcast and faces the harsh judgment of societal prejudices.
“Casting Shadows: Mirrors of Perception,” signifies the interconnectedness between Meursault, society’s judgment, and the distorted reflections of perception. It suggests the influence of societal scrutiny and how it contributes to the complex relationship between Meursault and the world around him.
Through the innovative use of mirrors, and typographic playful format inspired by the funeral process, “Casting Shadows: Mirrors of Perception” invites readers into a realm where the boundaries between reality and perception blur. Mirrors, symbolizing reflection and introspection, act as portals to alternative viewpoints, allowing readers to delve into Meursault’s inner world and examine the complexities of his character.
